Tower Records

This project involved relaunching a former or failed brand with a new identity suitable for modern times. The task included creating marketing materials, a documented process journal, new items, online presence, and other industry-related deliverables. For my rebrand, I chose Tower Records, a music retail franchise that primarily sold vinyl records and entertainment products from 1960 to 2006. My objective was to give the logo a vintage appearance with a modern twist.

To initiate the rebranding process, I began by documenting the creative brief, establishing a rebrand style, and creating a mood board to generate ideas for the direction of the logo design. My focus was on the vinyl records as the main product during the design process. I aimed to retain a vintage look while creating a logo that combines image and type and can also be used separately for various marketing or packaging products.

My goal was to make Tower Records stand out from its main competitors while making it readily available in the digital age. I considered putting together a Tower Records best hits vinyl and CD collection, offering a curated subscription service that would deliver monthly vinyl, and allowing for streaming and downloading of vinyl record albums and individual songs.
